I made a heap of plans for getting out of town and doing tourist stuff before I got to Tokyo. When I arrived though, I blew them all off so I could spend my days meeting up with friends, eating and going to karaoke. Hell, I'd spend six weeks in Europe running around like a crazed sightseer, I needed a break.
Sometimes a quiet holiday is the best.
I went to a local bar in Shinjuku and ended up meeting an AV actress and learning some interesting origami, I went to the winter illuminations in Nakameguro but got more excited about the tsukemen with cheese sauce I had for dinner. Met up with the awesome Kirsty for Korean BBQ and a visit to the Christon cafe (I've been meaning to go there for years), then again for a very British lunch. Hey, who can resist Shephard's pie? A much too quick lunch with Jen, karaoke with my crazy friend Mika.
After all that, I was sad to leave Tokyo. Sometimes I leave Japan feeling like I've had my fill but this time I had a totally lovely time and wanted more.
