February was a fantastic month for me. With the help of big promotion, I finally managed to do something I've dreamt of for a long time, something I once thought would be impossible for me. I don't like to discuss actual money figures but I will break this rule for once. I hit a five figured number for book royalties for the month!
Looking back over my sales figures, I remember hitting $300 in sales in April 2013 and thinking that was a huge amount. I really thought that'd be the pinnacle of my royalties. I've learnt a lot since then. Mostly, the key to doing well is work, work, work. Then market. But the work is the most important thing. I don't do a lot of social media promotion, mostly because I suck it and figure being creepy and weird on social media is worse than doing nothing at all.
Anyway, I don't think March will be quite so big but I will definitely hit my minimum royalty amount. That's the dollar amount I have to hit before I panic like a fool and start looking for a job.
My goals for the next few months are intense. I'm going away in June and I want to have FOUR novels written and released by then. It's not as crazy as it seems. They are shorter romance titles (50-60,000 words) and I've got the draft of the first one completed.
How was your February? Did you get a step closer to your dreams? Do you have any lofty goals for the next few months? Let me know.
