North Korea (DPRK), I'm thinking about it. I've been doing some research, looking at options.
It's an expensive country to visit - the tours I've been looking at would run to about $2000 for less than a week, including airfares to China (from Japan), single supplement because who wants to share a room with a weirdo stranger and assorted expenses.
Individual tours are possible but you still have local guides with you at all times (ie. you are on the same schedule, you just have to pay more).
Once you get there, there are a heap of rules about what you can do, what you can say and what you can photograph.
But, there are unicorns!
I've got a few months to think about it and, if I have the money, I think I might just do it.
