For the second in a row, I've booked myself on a 8am flight. Yikes! Why do I do that? That means a 4am start tomorrow. I'm not fond of 4am.
I've been in Kuala Lumpur this week, mainly working. Also beautifying myself. I've had my nails done -- I got a shellac manicure the first week I was in Thailand and it was still going strong 8 weeks later, only I had serious regrowth issues.
I also got my hair coloured. Again, serious regrowth issues. The hairdresser was a little strange and seemed shocked that I wanted him to clean up the dye on skin before I left the salon. It was cute that he asked which side I have my party!
I did go to Chinatown for a look. To be honest, the market wasn't that interesting but there were a few places worth poking around.
I also got to see part of an EXO concert from my balcony, got woken up by a fireworks display at 6am, drink lots of coffee and posted 3 kg worth of stuff home.
My airbnb is fabulous, one of the best places I've stayed. The only negative is that it's close to the train line so a bit noisy, but I can handle that.
There's this weird thing though were big groups of men walk along the train lines at night! Some of them have torches but not all of them. I'm talking well over a hundred guys over the course of an hour or so. I'm not sure if they are inspecting the tracks for damage (with their pissy little torches) or what. It's odd though.
Foodwise, I've had some decent meals but nothing super amazing. I think if I come back to Kuala Lumpur, I'd do a food tour and get someone with local expertise to show me around.
Have you ever been to Kuala Lumpur? What did you like best?
